From retailing to real estate and beyond, some businesses are starting to gear up for the next economic growth cycle.

In the face of an epic slump in consumer spending, Dimple Records is nearly doubling the size of its flagship store in Sacramento. Auto dealer George Grinzewitsch Jr. just built a $22 million Mercedes-Benz dealership in Roc... Read more

Simple Ways to Improve Curb Appeal

Larry Doss Monday, April 6, 2009

Well, Spring is busting out all over, to paraphrase the old song. Whether you’re trying to sell you property or just want it to look good for the neighbors, here are some great tips from Realtor, The Daily Real Estate News (Source: The Wall Street Journal, June Fletcher (04/03/2009)):

Staging a yard can give a home the all-important, buyer-pleasing curb appeal. Here are some suggestions that are both inexpensive and easy.

A Holiday Message from GreatWest GMAC

Larry Doss Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Not long ago, a Great West GMAC Real Estate professional lamented that as a child, she would often daydream about living in a home similar to the doll house she had. The doll house became among the most cherished of her memories.

As we grow older and hopefully mature to a certain degree, we realize that what we wish for as a child isn’t always possible. However, something about the little Victorian doll house, decked out in holiday grandeur, had never drifted far from her dreams for the future.

Little did she know years later she would become a Great West GMAC Real Estate Pr... Read more

WHY BEING REFERRED MAKES SENSE

Larry Doss Saturday, February 9, 2008

Because real estate is easy to get into, we are sorry to say there are a lot of agents in the business with little knowledge/experience/tools from which to draw. Often the only transactions some agents have done were with family or close friends who put up with their shortcomings. These are the very same people who give our industry a bad name. By randomly selecting an agent, you are taking a big chance.

Real Estate Professionals/GMAC has a fulltime Relocation Department because we know there is a need to help our friends/clients connect with Realtors® who raise the bar in providin... Read more

Guaranteed To Expire

Guaranteed To Expire
by Paul Pastore, ABR,CRS,CRB,G.R.I.,MRE,e-pro,RECS,

Here are the top ten ways any seller can practically guarantee their home will expire:
1. Not serious about selling. A sage once quipped, "Money is only important when you don’t want something enough." Real estate expert R.L. Brown said that if half of the 58,000 sellers in Maricopa County (Arizona) removed their for sale signs we would be at normal inventory levels. Actions speak louder than words in this market. Discretionary sellers should wait for a less competitive environment. Read more

The Top Ten Reasons It's a Great Time To Buy Real Estate!

Larry Doss

by Paul Pastore

1. Selection, selection, selection. There are about 57,000 resale homes on the market in Maricopa county(Phoenix). Regardless of the price range a buyer desires, there are plenty of houses from which to choose. Just a few years ago the resale inventory dropped below 5,000 units. A buyer was forced to make compromises if they were going to locate the home of their dreams. There is a great selection of attached homes, condos, and townhouses. You can find large lots, small lots, and a lot that will accommodate your boat or RV. There are lots of options in this market. Read more

Mortgage Market Mayhem

Larry Doss Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Swanepoel speaks out

RISMEDIA, August 13, 2007–The public media this past week headlined the apparent surprise “mortgage meltdown” as many reported the filing for bankruptcy protection by the nation’s 10th-largest residential financer; American Home Mortgage Investment Corp., Melville, New York. Real estate, contradictory to its glamorous profile a year or two ago, was again headlined but this time as the big bad wolf. So is this the end of the real estate mortgage Merry-Go-Round? Probably not, as I haven’t heard “a certain lady sing yet!”

So what’s happened? The sub-prime mo... Read more
